The Mrs. Alabama America Pageant is open to all married women who meet the eligibility requirements.  Go to the Entry Information Section on the Menu Bar for details.  You can also request an application which will be sent via email.

Applications are available now.  Call, email or complete the “Application Request Form” on the website under Entry Information in the Menu Bar.  You will receive an application via email…..usually the same day you request it!

The entry fee covers the cost of producing the pageant such as: renting the facility, sets and music, round trip airfare and expenses to nationals for the titleholder, advertising, printing, websites, phones, office expenses, etc. You can have as many sponsors as you wish to cover your fee. Free space is provided in the pageant program book to list eight (8) of your sponsors or supporters.

There are no other Alabama Preliminary Pageants to the Mrs. Alabama America Pageant.  We produce ONE State Pageant each year. Each contestant receives an honorary regional title and sash which is representative of her hometown, county, etc.

Within the first week of March 2016. The absolute deadline is determined by the printing of the pageant program.  When  the program is completed and once the printing process begins contestant photos cannot be added.  No last minute entries are accepted. The exact last day will be posted on the website and facebook as the time draws near. Listed below are five (6) very good reasons you should not wait until the last minute to enter.

1) The information about securing sponsors is in the “Contestant Section” of the website which requires a password. You will not receive the password to this section of the website until you are a contestant.

2) There are also seven (7) required forms and approximately 35 categories of information and photos to help you prepare for the pageant in the “Contestant Password Protected” section.

3) Gown Rental: If you plan to rent your competition gown the earlier you reserve it the better the selection will be.

4) Program Photo: If you need a new headshot – new photos take time – avoid the extra charge for rush orders.

5) You need time to complete all paperwork, prepare and be your best YOU on the day of the pageant.

6)  Your pageant experience should be enjoyable.  It should be like an adventure or journey.  It should be fun and you should enjoy the preparation such as shopping, makeup, hair, fitness and all aspects of preparing to be your best on pageant day. This takes time.

There is no talent portion of the Mrs. Alabama America Pageant.

All Ticket Sales are handled through the Mrs Alabama America Pageant Office and will be on sale to the public at 5 PM in the theater lobby on pageant day.

Children 5 years of age and older will be admitted. All tickets are the same price,

It has been said that statistically eighty percent of the participants  are “first time participants.”

The Mrs. America Pageant seems to attract women of all ages and vocations. There is no professional criteria required. Contestants have been stay-at-home moms, real estate agents, doctors, lawyers, teachers, bank employees, business owners, wives of doctors and dentists, etc. The one thing they all have in common is that they are married and have an eagerness to compete.

Physical Fitness is important but contestants are judged in four categories:
Beauty
Personality & Poise (Interview)
Swimsuit
Evening Gown
(Each category counts twenty-five percent)

Over the years state and national titleholders of all ages have won the crown. The state application states a minimum age of 18 years but not a maximum age.

The Judge Packet does not contain information about your age.   So, unless you tell them in interview they have no way of knowing how old you are.

The number of contestants varies each year.  The number changes daily so WE DO NOT quote a specific number of contestants at any time before the pageant.

All contestant information is confidential. Contestant names are not disclosed prior to the pageant. Contestant photos will be visible on the website in “Contestant Section 2016”  early on the morning of the pageant.

Only the day of the pageant.  Contestants arrive on the day of the pageant and experience a day filled with rehearsals, lunch, interview with the judges, group photo and  the exciting on-stage competition which will culminate in the crowning of a new Mrs. Alabama America.

The titleholder must represent Alabama in the 2015 Mrs. America Pageant. She must also make at least one appearance for a sponsor event if the sponsor requests it. The number of appearances she makes during her reign are different for each titleholder.  A specific number of appearances during the year is not required. She is required to crown her successor the following year.

A previous marriage has no bearing on your competition in the pageant.  The rules state that a contestant must be married as of the date of entry and throughout the competition.

Mrs. Alabama America is a beauty pageant. The judging categories are listed above in the Judging Categories Section. The titleholder may choose to work with a specific organization that is near and dear to her heart during her reign. Madeline will select a cause that is important to her and use every opportunity to spread the word.  There is power in the crown and sash – people listen.

Contestant photos are posted on the website on pageant day. Immediately after the pageant the crowning photos of the winner and her court will be available on the website. The remainder of the pageant photos will be posted as soon as the photos are received from the pageant photographer.

Even though some contestants seek the advice of a coach, we do not see their success reflected in the overall outcome of the pageant each year. Once you are accepted as a contestant  and receive your passwords – the “Contestant Section” of the website will guide you through each category of competition with information, photos, etc.

The pageant begins with each contestant being introduced in her Opening Number White Cocktail Dress, and Regional Sash walking in various patterns on the stage.  The choreographed moves are very easy walking patterns, posing and arm movements – (you do not need to be a dancer)  High Heel Flesh Toned or Clear Shoes and Accessories of your choice.

Sponsor information is available on the website for contestant information only. You do NOT have to purchase or rent your wardrobe from the pageant sponsors.

We are hard at work all year searching for outstanding individuals to serve on our judging panel.  Our judges volunteer their services and are from various walks of life. They may have backgrounds in any of the following areas:  community and business leadership, media, travel, merchandising/design, education, performers, talent management, fashion, casting, arts or sports.  We go to great lengths to ensure the fairness and objectivity of the judging panel. Judges are required to sign documentation verifying that they do not know a contestant, have not coached a contestant and that their decisions will be made in a fair and impartial manner.

A sponsor is an individual or business that gives you money or provides a service to enable you to participate in the pageant. The sponsors name will be listed free of charge in the program book under your photograph.  Approximately eight (8) names will fit in the space.  It really depends on the length of their names.

When you sell an ad to an individual or business they are purchasing a full page color ad to advertise their business in the program book.

All ads must be full page color ads.

You can sponsor yourself, be sponsored by your family, friends, in-laws or your family business.  The judges choose “Mrs. Photogenic” from the Pageant Program Book Ads.  You are not required to sell or buy ads – however, the old saying is “A picture is worth a thousand words.”

The Judges receive a Program Book in their Judge Packet upon arrival at the pageant.  They see the Program Book before they see you!

NO.  It is not necessary to spend  a fortune on an Interview Outfit,  Swimsuit or Evening Gown. It is more important to select outfits that make you feel confident, that best suit your body type and personality. Each year the personal choice of gowns can span from simple without beads to fully beaded. It is never the gown the judges are scoring; it’s the woman wearing it.

NO.  Contestants are NOT permitted to have a personal hair stylist or make-up artist backstage. Pageant Volunteers “backstage helpers” will be available to assist contestants with wardrobe changes, zippers, number buttons, etc.

If you were to become Mrs. Alabama America and go to the Mrs. America Pageant – Personal assistants are NOT allowed backstage at the Mrs. America Pageant.

We feel that tattoos and piercings are a statement of your individuality. Should you feel that your tattoo might be offensive, you may want to make sure it is covered by your swimwear, gown or body makeup.  If you are uncomfortable with your naval piercing, you may want to make sure your wardrobe covers it, replace it with something smaller or remove it totally for pageant competition.

The judges will provide critiques for each contestant.  Call the pageant office one week after the pageant and request your critiques.

Pageant Scores will NOT be available.

We recommend that you purchase a DVD of the pageant and critique your on-stage performance.  It is also helpful to watch pageants on TV and attend as many local pageants as you can.
